The Board of Review is made up of local officials and/or citizens appointed by the governing body. It is the Board’s duty to hear evidence by taxpayers and the assessor to decide if the assessment is correct.
Should a taxpayer choose to contest an assessment he or she must complete an objection form from the municipal clerk. Once the form has been completed a hearing will be scheduled at the Board of Review, where he or she presents evidence to prove the assesor’s value is incorrect.
