The Architectural Review Committee, under the Community and Economic Development Department, analyzes development proposals throughout the City of Waupaca related to architectural styles and details. This includes streetscapes, designs of parks and open spaces, landscaping areas, and planting.
The Architectural Review Committee follows four guidelines when reviewing and determining projects in the City of Waupaca:
Environment: preservation of the natural landscape and cohesiveness of created landscape with the surrounding area.
Existing surroundings: creation of harmonious design between existing structures, terrain, and streetscape.
Neighbors: protection for existing owners and users through regulation of design to protect against excessive noise and sound pollution to minimize effects on the existing neighborhood
Architecture: creation of originality and innovation in planning and development, with special regards to aesthetics of the development including landscaping, signage and other exterior accompaniments, and design of development that reflects and builds upon existing structures.
