When applying for a permit the following information is required:
- Plot plan
- Construction plans/cross section diagram, see Example
- Description of work
Requirements for new homes permits: - Set of Building Plans to be kept by inspector
- Name & Addresses of Contractors, building, electrical, plumbing & heating
- Building Contractor's State Certification Number
- Building Address
- Heat Loss Calculations (also known as energy calculations)
- Truss Calculations (if trusses are used)
- Estimated Building Cost
- Site Plan showing all setbacks from lot lines
- Drain Tile Form completed (provided by inspection office)
- Erosion Control Plan
- Completed Building Permit Application
Inspections: It is the owner's responsibility to contact the Inspection Office for the required inspections.
Electrical Work: All electrical work must be done by or under the supervision of a licensed electrical contractor licensed electrical contractor licensed by the City of Waupaca. Electrical permits will only be issued to a licensed contractor.
Electrical contractor's license applications shall be filed with the Clerk's Office and accompanied by proof of certification as a master electrician by the State of Wisconsin.
Plumbing Work: All plumbing work must be done by a licensed master plumber licensed by the State of Wisconsin. Homeowners may do plumbing work if they own and occupy the home as their primary residence.
In the event any work is commenced prior to a permit being issued or permission to start is granted by the Building Inspector, the permit fee shall be doubled.
