The City of Waupaca has posted official traffic signs as required by WI Statutes 349.13 advising motorists that parking is prohibited on any City Street between the hours of 2 a.m. – 6 a.m. These signs are located at or reasonably near the corporate limits of the city. The fines for violating this ordinance is currently $15.00, although if the fine is not paid within 10 days, fines can increase and the registration may be subject to suspension. Any vehicle in violation of 7.01, Parking Regulations, is deemed to be a traffic hazard to public safety and can be towed at the department’s discretion, causing increased penalties for the owner. This can be accomplished in person or by notifying the police department by telephone.
The Waupaca Police Department encourages all motorists to comply with the parking restrictions, which allows the Public Works Department the opportunity to keep the city streets and parking lots free of snow and debris year round.
