(Barb Robert and Jeri Allen Volunteering at Shop With a Cop)

Just wanted to share some give back time. I attached a picture that I took of Barb working in the kitchen at Shop with a Cop.
Barb and I worked at Shop with a Cop last Tuesday. I also baked and decorated cookies for the kids to take home with them.
We had a great time setting up and filling boxes for the kids to take home and then serving food. The take home boxes contain things like cereal, cookies, fruit, crayons, and stickers. Last year someone even donated mittens to send home with the kids.
Shop with a Cop is such a great event. Every year about 40 kids from Waupaca County are paired up with an officer/deputy from one of the local police department or sheriff’s department. They are given gift cards for Fleet Farm and taken shopping for Christmas presents for their family. They are also allowed to buy themselves something after they have purchased something for every member of their family. After shopping, they are brought back to the Recreation Center where the presents are wrapped by numerous volunteers.
They are given a meal and get the opportunity to sit on Santa’ s lap and get their picture taken.
Everyone had such a great time, kids, officers and volunteers alike. I would recommend this event to anyone.
