Work on Harrison Street water laterals continued again this past week. There is all but one lateral to complete in this section. That one lateral will be completed early next week and the crew will switch over to storm sewer work in the intersection of Center St and N. Harrison St. The following week (8/22 – 8/26) should see concrete crews mobilizing in to start replacing the damaged sidewalk and curb.
Grading and shaping crew continued to focus on getting the road ready from Highland Drive up to the crest of the hill. Next week we expect the string line crew to be onsite mid-week (probably Wednesday 8/17). The string line crew sets a line to a very specific height which is essential for placing new concrete curb and gutter. As this crew installs the string line, residents will loose direct access to homes via driveways. Cars/trucks maybe be parked on the nearby side street of Union or near the apartments on High Street. After the concrete is poured, residents may park anywhere on the road but cannot jump the new concrete curb. Again, this should start on Wednesday (8/17) be complete on Thursday (8/18) and concrete poured on Friday (8/19). The following week, a crew will return and start placing additional base material and residents can start using their driveways again.
