Fabricated and installed by the Waupaca Foundry, this spirited sculpture layers the letter “W” to reflect the name of the city, county, and state in which it resides: Waupaca, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. The City’s creative logo pays homage not only the location of Waupaca but also the area’s abundant natural resources and rich industrial heritage. The use of Corten steel celebrates the past, present, and future contributions of Waupaca’s skilled craftspeople, while the sculpture’s playful contours evoke rolling waves and billowing wheatfields. The City of Waupaca thanks the Waupaca Foundry for this generous gift and invites visitors and residents alike to take a picture inside the “W” while exploring Waupaca’s historic downtown.
