In 2021, Waupaca’s historic downtown Main Street is getting a facelift. New street lighting, sidewalks, utilities, and streetscape improvements will position the district for future success. To learn more about these improvements visit (insert link to Main Street Reconstruction page).
As the City prepares for this major investment, the community is also organizing to help fundraise for additional downtown investments including biking improvements, sidewalk poetry, and a downtown sound system.
2021 provides us with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help create and sustain a more vibrant Main Street. Your contribution to the Waupaca Area Chamber Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit, will help turn downtown Waupaca into an iconic destination where visitors and residents alike flock to walk, shop, and dine.
While the City of Waupaca will add trees, benches, and flower pots to Main Street’s new streets and sidewalks, this project takes beautification one step further. Your gift will support the addition of special amenities that will transform Main Street into a site of bustling economic activity and a source of civic pride.

What we are up to
We have identified additional downtown improvements we’d like to see outside the city’s current budget for the Main Street reconstruction project (link back to that page). The priorities we’ve identified so far include:
Now that we’ve established a few priorities we are developing a fundraising strategy to implement these priorities. As plans firm up we’ll be reaching out to the community to ask for help!
We’ve also applied to join the Wisconsin Connect Communities program. To learn more about this program visit:
