City Service Closures & Department Notices

  • Masks are required in all city buildings unless otherwise noted. 
  • Waupaca City Hall is open normal weekday hours of 7:30am-4:00pm.  If you are able to conduct business by phone or email you are encouraged to do so.  Masks are required.
  • Waupaca Police Department Lobby– Open normal business hours, weekdays, 7:30am-Noon, 12:45pm-4:00pm.
  • Waupaca Area Public Library – Curbside pickup, computer user, limited study room use and browsing available during normal library hours (M-R 9a-8p, F 9a-6p, Sat 9a-2p).  Call 715.258.4414 or visit for details.  Book drops are all open.  Masks are required and other safety measures are in place.  Book Sale room open.
  • Waupaca Senior Center – open with limited schedule starting July 6th.  Safety procedures in place and masks required.  Must register in advance for each class you wish to attend, computer lab use and nail clinic call 715-258-4437. 
  • Senior Center July 2020 – Opening Details
  • Waupaca Recreation Center – Open with capacity limitations, 20 people maximum per gym and 10 people maximum in the lobby.  All other areas closed.  Please bring your own equipment for use, no rec center equipment will be available.  Masks required.

  • Waupaca Parks – Parks are open.  Playgrounds and Skate Park are open but not sanitized, use at your own risk.  Bathrooms are open normal hours, cleaned prior to opening for the day.  
  • Waupaca Online – Most aspects of operation back to normal.  Staff have procedures to follow when entering a customer premise.  
  • Community Media – All in-studio productions cancelled until further notice.  Studio use limited to community media staff, no guests at this time.  
  • Electronics Recycling has been rescheduled to October 9th 10:30am-1pm at Swan Park.
  • Waupaca Area Recycling Center is OPEN.
  • Waupaca Taxi is operating with revised hours:
    Mon-Thurs 6:30am-9:45pm, Fri 6:30am-11pm, Sat 7:30am – 11pm and Sun 8am-3:45pm
  • Waupaca Municipal Airport/Brunner Field – Open
  • Payments (cash and check) can be left in our secure drop boxes. We have one near the front entrance of city hall on the side of the building and one in our rear parking lot. If you still have concerns, call us at city hall 715.258.4411 during normal hours, for other options.
  • Open Public Access to Meetings. All meetings for the month of September will either be virtual.  We will broadcast meetings this month on our Facebook Live, FM96.3 and Win-TV 991.  For meetings taking place at City Hall and in-person, the public can attend.  Masks are required.

Alternative Ways to Do City Business

  • Pay your water/sewer/Waupaca Online Utility Bill: Use the dropbox at City Hall; utilize online payment options.  Questions about your bill can be answered via phone by calling 715.258.4411.

  • Many city permit forms are available online.  Download the form and contact us at city hall 715.258.4411 to find out who to email it to for processing and payment.

  •  Register to Vote (or check your registration status) online.

  • Request an absentee ballot online.

  • Submit a city service request about various issues online.

  • Access forms online to apply for a building permit.  When you complete your form call us to submit and for online payment options.  715.258.4404

  • Staff Contact Directory.  Please call for assistance before making an in-person visit.  Many items can be answered over the phone.

  • ActiveNet – Manage your parks, recreation and senior center items online.  Give us a call at the Parks & Recreation department if you need assistance.  715.258.4435.

  • Police Department.  Non emergency – call our office, many items can be assisted over the phone.  715.258.4400.  For emergency dial 911.  

Community Event Cancellations

  • Chain O’ Lakes Blues Fest – Cancelled 
  • Winchester Academy Fall Series – Virtual
  • Waupaca County Dept of Health and Human services will not operate on-site senior dining for the foreseeable future.  Home delivery is available to all participants by calling 715 258 6274
  • The Bread Basket Community Meals will become drive-up meals for regular bread basket participants.  This will take place between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday at the United Methodist Church.  This will take place for the foreseeable future.
  • The Wisconsin Veteran’s Home @ King is not allowing any visitors on campus until further notice.
  • The Waupaca Historical Society will be open by appointment only.  This includes the Holly History and Genealogy Center, Hutchinson House and Historic Train Depot.  Masks are required.  Call 715.256.9980 for appointments.
