The goal of the Sign Code is to promote an attractive environment, successful commercial districts, and a healthy local economy in an effort to provide better service to customers and residents in the City of Waupaca.
When addressing Sign Code the City of Waupaca seeks to identify aesthetic issues and respond to new technologies to best serve its residents.
The maximum allowable sign area, height, and type of site identification sign(s) permitted within the City are determined based on the underlying zone districts. The size of the building and lot where the business is located are also determining factors for the size and number of signs.
A sign permit is required to locate, erect, move, reconstruct, extend, enlarge, convert or structurally alter a sign, except real estate signs, name, occupation, and warning signs, bulletin boards, and memorial signs.
