The City of Waupaca launches Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code Update
The City of Waupaca is updating its official Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code in 2020 and you are invited to participate in a fun, engaging workshop led by Aaron Jenson and Andrew Dane (City of Waupaca), along with Jeff Sanders (Zoning Consultant). Participants will share and discuss their hopes and concerns for the future of this great City.
This workshop is scheduled for January 6th, 2020, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Danes Hall, 301 N Main Street, Waupaca, WI. The meeting will include a presentation of key demographic and economic trends impacting the City, small group exercises, and group discussion. The objectives of the meeting are to identify and understand the key challenges we face as a community, so that we can better plan for the future. Participants will be asked to share their hopes and concerns for the future of Waupaca, including issues such as land use, parks and trails, housing development, childcare, transportation, and economic development.
Using aerial maps and sticky dots participants will also have the opportunity to identify specific areas of the City for improvement. Do you have an idea for a new trail segment, a concern about blight in your neighborhood, or other suggestion? If so we want to hear from you! Information from the workshop will be combined with community survey and focus group results in order to generate goals and objectives for the City’s long-range growth and development. Feedback from the workshop will also be used to begin the process of updating the City’s zoning code.
